Water works marks new business connection for AJE

A NEW contract working on a water treatment works marks the start of a new business relationship for AJE which could lead to numerous new projects for the firm.

Working with Efficient Service Delivery (ESD) on behalf of Scottish Water, the AJE team has begun work at Whitehillocks Water Treatments Works at Brechin in Angus.

The project worth around £240,000 involves mechanical works and a new building which has to be constructed in keeping with an existing building on the site.

The mechanical works involves installing new dosing lines which carry chemicals required for the cleaning of the raw water.

Graham Alexander, general manager with AJE said the job was progressing well and has already led to other projects with ESD: “This partnership that we have with ESD has meant that our skilled team has secured not just this project in Angus, but also a definite two further projects elsewhere around Scotland including Ardersier and Tain. We believe that it may lead to more.”

Under an alliance agreement Black & Veatch, Galliford Try and MWH Global, operating as ESD, will operate as equal joint venture partners working in collaboration with Scottish Water. This programme forms part of a wider investment by Scottish Water to improve treatment works serving its five million customers.
