AJE helps garden centre grow
Work is progressing on a project just around the corner from AJE HQ.
Project Manager Allan Martin is leading on AJE’s role in a £750,000 extension to popular garden centre Mackenzie & Cruickshank.
Allan said: “Despite the snow at the start of year, not long after the project began, we are on track. It is all going really well. There was a short delay with concrete pouring due to the frost, but these minor challenges are expected at this time of year, it is looking good for our role in the extension to be complete by the end of March.”
AJE is working with other local firms to support M&C with the development.
The company is fabricating and erecting approx. 7 tonnes of steel to extend the building into the existing courtyard at the current main entrance and the team will also install new cladding on the roof of the new building and the existing building.
Allan added: “All of the different contractors are working so well together. The cladding for the extension is already on site and we hope to start that next week. So far, from our point of view it is going very well.”
The 500sqm extension will boast solar panels, air source heat pump and under floor heating and the reason for the development is so that M&C, a family run business can increase retail space to offer more gardening and outdoor living products.
